Dr. Sung-Yong (Sean) Park has been awarded a NSF CAREER grant of $500,000
February 2021: Dr. Park has received a $500,000 grant from NSF CAREER for his work on Optofluidic Solar Indoor Lighting Towards Sustainable Buildings.
January 2021: Dr. Yang, along with colleagues from Arizona State University and the University of Southern California, had their research titled, "Limpet Tooth‐Inspired Painless Microneedles Fabricated by Magnetic Field‐Assisted 3D Printing" featured as the 'Inside Back Cover' of the journal of Advanced Functional Materials. This work opens intriguing perspectives for designing microneedles with sharp features and excellent mechanical strength based on bioinspired hierarchical structures.
Dr. Katira selected as recipient of 2020 Outstanding Leadership in Engineering Award
January 2021: Dr. Parag Katira selected as the winner of the prestigious Outstanding Leadership in Engineering Award for 2020. Dr. Katira will be honored at the annual Award Ceremony at the end of February.
Dr. Naseradinmousavi is recipient of 2021 John J. Gallen Memorial Award
January 2021: Dr. Peiman Naseradinmousavi was the recipient of the 2021 John J. Gallen Memorial Award. Instituted in 1977, this prestigious award recognizes outstanding younger graduates of Villanova University's College of Engineering.
Senior Design Project Team Selected as Semi-Finalist in NASA Moon to Mars Prospecting Challenge
December 2020: An interdisciplinary Senior Design Project Team consisting of Matthew Gonzalez (ME), David Bunson (ME), Krysta Rhodes (ME), Jesus Figueroa (ME), Jonathan Maravilla (ECE), Alan Clemenson (ECE), Brandon Mosburg (ECE), Ryan Marmion (ECE), and Humood Alghunaim (ECE) as team members, with Dr. Scott Shaffar, the Senior Design Projects Instructor as mentor, is one of 12 teams from around the country selected to be semi-finalists in the NASA Moon to Mars Prospecting Challenge.
